This function will plot the locations of a set of points. Once the points are plotted, there are many customization options and enhancements available, such as the addition of other data types (e.g., connections and tessellations) or indicating data values associated with each point (continuous or categorical) through color, size, and/or shape. These options are described in more detail under mapped point options and special options for maps.
